KITCHENS OR GALLERY?

The kitchens of the Grands Buffets are like no others. They house a wealth of technological innovations and have been thought out down to the last detail for comfort, ergonomics, efficiency, carbon footprint and so forth.

It shows that everything has been designed to banish the hard slog that seems to be the lot of restaurant kitchens: carrying, shifting, storing, organising, preparing, cooking, mixing, preserving, lifting, tidying, cleaning, draining, wiping, drying…

To make this already outstanding workplace a place of exception, the reasoning just had to be taken a step further by adding boldness to innovation.

Jane and Louis Privat, who are lovers of modern art, had the idea of inviting a designer (Patrick Chappert-Gaujal) and his works (made specially for the occasion) to transform the kitchens into a place of transcendence.

The gap between culinary creativity and artistic creativity has been bridged.
